Society Membership

The annual subscription fee for Associate members - Rs. 500.
For Life membership - Rs. 3000
Founder members Life Membership - Rs. 5000.
Corporate Members will subscribe with a Yearly fee of Rs. 50,000.

NB:- These figures may be changed by the Society from time to time.

The membership of the Society shall be the following classes:

Founder members

Medical Practitioners holding allopathic qualifications recognized under schedule I or III of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and interested in the science and art of Kawasaki Disease or Non-medical scientists with a research interest in KD who would initially contribute to the development of the upcoming society will be considered Founder Members. The first set of office bearers will be selected from amongst the Founder Members. Tenure of new office bears will be for minimum two years. The duration can be changed, in exceptional circumstances, as per the decision of general body.

Associate Member

Paramedical staff, Non-medical scientists other than research workers, Philanthropists / donors / spouse of Life Members and interested family members of KD would only be eligible for the associate membership of the society. Their name(s) is/are unanimously recommended by the managing committee and passed by a two-third majority at a meeting of the general body. An Associate Member shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the society or become an office bearer.

Life Members

Those who are eligible for membership on paying an amount equivalent to 10 times of the initial joining fee can acquire life membership. Medical Practitioners holding allopathic qualifications recognized under schedule I or III of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and interested in the science and art of primary immune deficiency shall be eligible for membership.

Honorary Members

Any individual who has rendered outstanding service to the field of Kawasaki disease to this membership provided his/her name is unanimously recommended by the managing committee and passed by a two-third majority at a meeting of the general body. An Honorary Member shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the society or become an office bearer.

Corporate members

Representatives from the corporate sector willing to sponsor the activities of KD would be eligible to become Corporate Member provided their name(s) is/are unanimously recommended by the managing committee and passed by a two-third majority at a meeting of the general body. A Corporate Member shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the society, but he/she shall not be entitled to either vote at a meeting of the society or become an office bearer.

Privileges of Membership

  • All ordinary members and life members shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Society including right to vote and shall be entitled to receive all publications of the society free of charge.
  • New Members: Membership will commence from the beginning of the financial year of the Society (1st March). Any new member whose application may be under consideration may attend and take part in the deliberations of the society, if it is held prior to his/her being elected but will not have the right of voting as a member till his/her membership is approved by General Body.
  • All Associate Members shall be entitled to participate in scientific and social activities of the society. They, however, shall not be entitled to vote or hold the position of office-bearers.
  • Founder members and corporate members will get cour differentiation badges as per the decision of executive committee.

Cessation of Membership Privileges and Re-admission

  • Membership of the society will cease:-
    (a) by voluntary resignation.
    (b) If the managing committee decides by a two-third majority to delete the name of a member from the membership for any proved unprofessional behavior or conduct and is confirmed by the general body at its next meeting. Before any disciplinary action of such a nature is taken, the offending member(s) will be served with a notice in writing to appear before the next meeting of the managing committee and will be given an opportunity to explain his/her conduct.
  • The privileges of the members such as entitlement to receive copies of the journals and proceedings will be suspended if the subscription remains unpaid for one year after it becomes due. Membership will be terminated after two notices sent by registered post by Hon. Gen. Secretary for payment of membership fee are unheeded.
  • Re-admission can be considered on payment of all dues as prescribed in the bye-laws. This re-admission shall be treated as new admission to the society.
